I’ve collaborated with Nick Baum for many years, having been the original designer of GiftRocket. More recently, Nick, now founder of Tremendous, asked me to create an illustrated print as a wedding gift for his close friends, Kapil and Holly. Kapil also happens to be Nick’s co-founder at Tremendous.

What we did:

For the final piece, I hand-painted an illustration inspired by Newport, Rhode Island (the location of their wedding) featuring a sailboat and the iconic Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge.

Before arriving at the final artwork, I explored several other directions, from playful illustrations of wine bottles, tennis rackets, hearts, and florals to different colour treatments of the sailboat and bridge scene. Each variation was hand-painted, then digitised and refined, giving Nick a range of options that captured the atmosphere of the couple’s wedding weekend.
